Santa Monica Canyon in the 1930s
In the 1920s, Santa Monica Canyon became an enclave for artists, writers, and creatives. Many were also part of the LGBTQ+ community. Over the 20th century, West Channel Road at the mouth of the Canyon (pictured in the foreground) has also hosted several gay bars and clubs.
