Third Street Promenade from Broadway
Third Street Promenade began to be pedestrianized in 1965. City planners added trees and benches to draw visitors to stroll along. At lower left, the impressive Romanesque revival Keller Building, built in the 1890s, houses an Army & Navy store, once a popular outlet for discount surplus goods.
