View of the Long Wharf and Santa Monica Canyon
The Southern Pacific Railroad Company built the 4720-foot Long Wharf, also called Port Los Angeles, in 1893. It is seen here from the Santa Monica palisades, along with the buildings at the mouth of Santa Monica Canyon on what are now West Channel and Entrada Drives.
