The Rebuilt Phillips Chapel CME Church
This 1956 image shows the renovated Phillips Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church, which features stained glass windows commemorating members of the church. It was not only the first African American church in Santa Monica, but the first CME church west of Texas.
