The Rendezvous Ballroom was a dance hall and bathhouse on Crystal Beach, and a popular gathering place for the gay community in the postwar era. As homosexuality was then considered illegal, the bathhouse was often raided by police - most notably in 1955, which led to the arrest of 11 men.
